Buryfields School Council

Meet our new School Councillors for 2016-17!

The role of the School Council is an extremely important one.  The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child states that:

'When adults are making decisions that affect children, children have the right to say what they think should happen and have their opinions taken into account.' (Article 12)

At Buryfields we fully endorse this, and the views of all children are taken seriously.  The school council members are responsible for talking with their classmates about important issues and gaining an understanding of their feelings, before discussing the matter with the rest of the council, and hopefully coming to a decision about the matter being debated.
