EXCELLENCE - RESPECT - ACHIEVEMENT

Dear Parents and Carers,

On behalf of our staff, governors and children, I warmly welcome you to Buryfields Infant School.

Buryfields is a traditional, well-established school with modern values and high standards.  Our beautiful original building dates back to the late Victorian period. Newer additions, including the library, hall, four classrooms and a staffroom, along with our extensive grounds, provide a wonderful setting in which to learn.

The school is situated in historic Odiham, Hampshire, where we enjoy close links with the local community including Mayhill Junior School and Robert May’s Secondary School.

At Buryfields, we put the children at the centre of all we do. The governing body, parents, friends of Buryfields and staff work closely together for the benefit of all; we do our utmost to ensure our children are happy, healthy, motivated and enjoy learning in a caring, supportive and safe environment.

Our school is an inclusive community which actively promotes mutual respect based on recognising and rewarding personal success and high standards of behaviour. At Buryfields you will find a strong and positive ethos based on the values of our school motto, ‘Excellence – Respect – Achievement’, which supports every child towards developing a positive self-image through recognition, challenge, praise and affection.

We want all of the children to enjoy their time here and to make excellent progress in their intellectual, personal, social and emotional development. A stimulating and broad curriculum is delivered by an experienced staff of highly committed teachers and teaching assistants. Through this, we aim for all children to feel valued and supported as they grow in confidence and independence whilst developing key knowledge and skills alongside a love of learning.

In order to ensure that we offer the best educational experience for our children, we have a long tradition of involving parents and carers in all aspects of school life. By working in close partnership with you we believe that we offer an enriching and successful start to your child’s school career.

We hope that you find our website interesting, informative and useful. We also welcome visits and feel that it is important for you to meet us and see our school at work.

Please do not hesitate to contact the school office for any further information, to request a prospectus or to arrange a visit.
