Oak Class have settled in to year 1 very well and are getting use to their new routines and are now working towards becoming more independent within the class and at home. This half term the children have enjoyed getting to know their new teachers and making lots of new friends.
Gordon Brown Activity Centre
We have had a busy start to the new academic year and even went on a school trip to the Gordon Brown activity centre. The children had a fun filled day becoming detectives to solve who had broken into the Three Bears’ cottage. Throughout the day they had to find clues and work out who it was from a list of suspects. Oak Class worked well together as a team to help support one another and solve the mystery.
In RE this half term we focused on thanking and how we might show our thanks to someone. This led us on to harvest where we celebrated the food that we had and brought some items in to share with those less fortunate. We then celebrated all together by learning a class poem and singing some harvest songs which we shared with our family and friends.
